Marcelo Coelho, is a Brazilian and Portuguese baritone, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.


The young baritone holds a bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where he studied under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Andrea Adour.


At the age of 22, he made his debut on stage, in the world premiere of the opera "The Dilettante" by J. G. Ripper, currently the most renowned opera composer in the country. Since then, Marcelo has sung on the most prestigious stages in the country, such as the Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro, and the Teatro Carlos Gomes. His stage career includes the operas "Viva La Mamma" by G. Donizetti; "Un Ballo in Maschera" by G. Verdi; "Hänsel und Gretel" by E. Humperdinck, among others.

In addition, he has sang in some of the most renowned music festivals in Latin America, as a full scholarship holder, such as the SESC Pelotas International Music Festival and was a member of the Opera Studio at the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio's Opera House, the Bidu Sayão Opera Academy.


In 2019, the baritone moves to Germany, where he starts studying his master's degree in voice at the renowned Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart (State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart), under the guidance of renowned soprano Turid Karlsen; finishing them in the beginning of 2022.
